Michael Lawrence breaks away v.s. the Electricians

Hounds end up with a loss and two tied games against the Marquette Electricians in a NLHL Matchup at Home

In Kalamazoo the Electricians and Hounds played three tight games with Marquette eking out a win Saturday morning behind Brett Love’s unassisted power-play goal early in the second period. Bryce Leaf got the win for Marquette.

A back-and-fourth affair Saturday night ended with a 5-5 tie. The teams exchanged first-period goals, scored three apiece in the second and each added goals in the third frame. West Michigan’s Jake Kreutzer, Alex Descheneaux and Michael Lawrence had two points each, while Marquette’s Levi Erkkila and Brett Heikkila also had two points.

In the final game of the weekend the teams exchanged first period goals and second period goals, but neither could gain an edge. Bryce Leaf skated all three games for Marquette, and Hounds forward Forrest Walbeck scored a shorthanded marker early in the second period.
