Lawrence and Filler sign affiliates with Jr K-Wings

Michael Lawrence and Daniel Filler both signed affiliates with the Kalamazoo Jr K-Wings this past week. Lawrence played two games with the Jr K-wings who are battling with Port Huron for first place in the NAHL North Division. Michael was even on the weekend playing in both games against the Falcons. "With several of our players being called up to practice with the Jr K-Wings, this is exactly the opportunity we want for our hounds players" says Tom Berry, Director of the West Michigan Hounds.

Kalamazoo is becoming a hot bed for hockey. Kalamazoo is home to the Kalamazoo Optimist Hockey Association ( House / AA), West Michigan Hounds AAA (NAPHL / NLHL), Kalamazoo Jr K-wings (NAHL), Western Michigan University (CCHA), and the Kalamazoo Wings (ECHL). Kalamazoo is the place where you can grow up playing hockey and potentially make a career within one town.

"We look forward to working with the Jr. K-wings now and in the future." says Mark Lawrence (Head Coach of the U-18 Hounds). "It’s a great experience for our players to see first hand what is needed to play at the next level."

The U-18 Hounds continue NLHL league play November 12 & 13 at Shattuck St. Mary’s for three games.
